Room dedicated to Isidore Ducasse, the controversial poet and unfortunately too often misunderstood with the pseudonym Count of Lautréamont, author of the visionaries “Chants de Maldoror” that today is believed to have influenced the poetics of many Symbolist and Surrealist artists. The room is on the first floor and overlooks directly the alley of the village from which you can hear the voices of the inhabitants who live there. The bathroom is equipped with a shower with 60’s onion which gives a pleasant rain effect, the sink has the base of an old Singer sewing machine.

Room dedicated to Carlo Goldoni, venetian playwright author of the comic theater that changed the language of Italian comedy and the old theater made of outdated masks and scripts no longer plausible. Window on the main alley and small bathroom very original raised, reachable by small steps.

A room dedicated to Vincent Van Gogh, Van Gogh was the author of almost nine hundred paintings and more than a thousand drawings, not to mention the numerous sketches not completed and the many notes probably destined to imitate artistic drawings of Japanese origin. Very characteristic open bathroom with lava stone sink (the PRETA NERA) supported by a tree trunk. Bathroom door type saloon.

Room dedicated to Daniele Kihlgren, an Italian-Swedish entrepreneur who 10 years ago decided to invest all his wealth in the recovery of Santo Stefano di Sessanio (AQ), transforming an entire village into a widespread hotel, where atmosphere, furniture, fabrics and recipes take you back more than 100 years. Room from the poor style and raw but equipped with all the comforts that can’ have a common room, with the possibility of a second bed on a mezzanine.

Room dedicated to Andersen, writer and poet of the 800 author of the famous children’s fairy tales. The room is an attic with a nice window overlooking the roofs of the village and another set in the roof, from which you can ‘admire the bell tower of the church and the starry sky. In addition to the radiator, there is a large convector to heat or cool the environment depending on the season.

Maria Lai was an Italian artist. The Museum of Contemporary Art the Station of Art has the largest public collection of works by the artist. With Binding to the mountains he realizes the first work of relational art at an international level. Daughter of Giuseppe and Sofia Mereu, Maria Lai is the second of five children, aunt of the photographer Virgilio Lai and of the writer Maria Pia Lai Guaita. During childhood it is rather poor health, which leads her to be transferred for the winter months from the town of Ulassai to the plains of Gairo to be able to recover: she is hosted by uncles peasants without children.

Mario  Lampazzi was born on 29 October 1954, son of Giuliano di Roma and of the countryside. Until the age of twenty-two, he led an isolated life devoted full time to pastoralism. A fleeting visit to the town from time to time and always lived with a sense of oppression and fear towards sociality. At the beginning of the 80s he began drawing erotic comics and animal subjects, mainly goats that he realized during the daily activity of shepherd. The works shown here are related to the decade at the turn of the ’80s and’ 90s during which Mario began writing poetry and creating wooden sculptures. After an initial approach with a pencil and some pastel and stimulated by the first appreciations he receives for his creations, he moves on to oil painting on canvas. If we were to give it a “conventional” artistic position, we could say that the sueprime creations tend to Realism, consequently Expressionism and Surrealism wrap themselves and mix together to finish in their paintings. The canvases are made with a very personalized color spreading technique, outside of the academic techniques. Another peculiarity is the extremely fast execution that allowed the artist to capture the sensation of the moment: as if to photograph his emotions. Some of his paintings have been painted during village parties where Mario was at the same time an integral and isolated part of social life: sitting on the step of a door he took part in the party but isolated himself from everyone by thinking, painting.
